IMAGINEFX FEATURES ASHTON GALLAGHER ILLUSTRATIONS

Issue 74 has finally arrived! To great surprise, my feature in ImagineFX Magazine made it in the STAR WARS Special Edition issue. It was a huge honor to have my work shown alongside other Star Wars Art greats such as concept artist Iain McCaig, illustrator Greg Hildebrant, and original trilogy legend Ralph McQuarrie.

Once again Editor Claire Howlett comments on my work saying:"Ashton uses colour and gesture wonderfully to guide the viewer around his paintings. None better than in his depiction of Captain America framed in a sea of khaki, being pushed on into battle."

It is great to see your work featured in ImagineFX! "Captain" has a period look and could easily pass for a WWII poster.

As an illustrator, I aim to capture a specific moment in a story that drives you to ask: "What is happening?" and a second later, compels you to wonder: "What is in store next?" At the core of each illustration, I place great emphasis on the idea, the concept that defines a genre, from comic books to pin up art. My portfolio has ranged in a number of areas and as my career evolves, my interest in telling stories, through illustration, has come to focus in a few favorite genres! Outside the customary styles, respectively, associated with most of these genres - I work photorealistic. Collectively, I view my work as an ongoing, ever evolving process, built equally from both failure and success. Thank you for your interest. - AG
